I design physical security and ICT systems for complex environments: federal installations, hyperscale data centers, airports, hospitals, correctional facilities, and enterprise campuses. My orientation is preventive: the most important engineering happens before systems are built, not after they fail. My work spans design development, construction documentation, design-assist delivery, and the translation of operational security requirements into systems that get built and perform as intended.
I hold the RCDD credential from BICSI, which validates expertise in ICT distribution design, structured cabling, and communications infrastructure. I serve on the BICSI Educational Technology Standards Committee, where I contribute to the standards that govern the field I work in.
Outside of design work, I build tools. The free tools on this site, PLEX and The Estimator, came from problems I actually needed to solve. I share them because the limited energy community deserves better instruments than the ones that currently exist.

I served in the U.S. Navy and subsequently in the Army National Guard. Military service shaped how I approach engineering work: methodically, with attention to consequence, and with an understanding that systems have to work under pressure, not just under ideal conditions. That orientation carries into every design I produce and every tool I build. The discipline of planning for degraded operations (maintaining capability when normal conditions fail) is not a military concept. It is an engineering standard. Service made it instinct.
